Mr. Jacob!

I took Jacob to the doctor this morning as his eye has been a little goopy/crusty the last week or so. His left eye has always weeped a little and I was given an prescription for drops at his 4 month appt. but never had it filled as it never got worse. Well it go worse and then I realized I had tossed the old prescription as I thought it might have been too old to have filled anyways. So sort or long story short, it looks like it might just have a little infection in it so got a new prescription for antibiotic drops and hoping that does the trick quickly. He has been tugging on that ear quite a bit lately, but that can also be from just teething, which he is definitley doing! His ear looked fine so must just be an eye thing. Anyhow, they had to weigh and he's 22lbs. 4oz.! What a growing little boy!!

Memorial Day Weekend in Winthrop!

This is how Ryan and his buddies spent most of the long weekend in Winthrop... playing in the DIRT! :) This is Ryan, Mason & Craig.
We wanted Ryan to get a little break from the afternoon sun so let him have a couple "girl-friends" over to our trailer to watch a movie and have some snacks. Lucky boy, that Ryan!
Ryan, Madalyn & Alexa (his new "friend" who he took quite a liking to this weekend!) :)
Our fire was about this big every night- our nice men wanted to keep us gals happy and warm and that they did! With a fire this big, you have to get creative when it comes to roasting marshmellows.... ya gotta find a really long stick!
Our WARM fire!
Jacob, in the front pack with me, on our way down with everyone to the river.
The kiddos "roughing it" our last night at camp, sitting in front of a pretty big TV and zoning out with some strawberry shortcake after some very full days of seriously playing!
After Ryan got a bath, he got to come back out and finish the movie, all cozy in his clean jammies and blanket... John Deere, of course! :)

Daddy & Jacob
Craig & Ryan enjoying their smores.... YUMMY!!
CUTIE! Very dirty, but still a cutie!
Jacob being held by our friend, Dustin, who was getting in some practice as he and his wife have a baby boy on the way!

Daddy with Jacob in the front pack... a sleeping Jacob, that is!

On our last day, we headed out of camp and headed to our annual stop for some ice cream in town! Here's cowboys, Craig & Ryan enjoying some ice cream on their saddles.
Some of the kiddos lined up, enjoying some yummy ice cream!
One of our friends took a quick family picture for us before we headed back on the road again. Of course, the second after she took it, Jacob gave a hug smile... figures!

Where have we been???

Wow! I can't believe it's been about a month since I've blogged on here?? It's that darn Facebook, I tell ya! It absorbs most of my "computer time" these days but I'll try to play catch up!

Here's our handsome boys, Jacob & Ryan on Mother's Day!
Jacob's face after some tasty baby food... still adorable- even with a filthy face! :)
Mommy & Jacob, just hangin' out!
Ryan took this picture himself and I found it on my computer the next time I used it... I was totally cracking up, as was Jeff when I showed it to him- such a goofball... I mean "cool dude"!

Jacob's 6 months old!

On Tuesday Jacob had his 6 month check up and it went great... well, minus the shots, of course. :( He's 21lbs. 1oz and almost 28inches long! (no wonder my back is always so sore!) He's pretty much at the top of the charts- along with his head! It's a Boon thing, no other way to explain it! :)
He's very much teething right now- drooling like crazy and if you put anything near his mouth he grabs it and shoves it in right on his gums. Poor guy. For teething I do have to say he's quite the trooper, at least so far! Ryan was a great teether, too. Hardly knew he was teething except for the constant drooling and gumming on things. I hope they pop through soon for him!
He's been taking good naps, a 3 hour one, in fact, for me today which was great! He's a very happy, healthy, thriving little guy and we're so thankful for that!
As for me, I've started working a day a week again and really am enjoying it. I have to say, though, as much as I enjoy going to "work" for a day, I'm always reminded of how fortunate I am to be able to stay home with my boys and watch them grow and change right before my eyes. It's really such a blessing.

Anna's 1st BIRTHDAY party!

It's hard to believe that little Miss Anna is already 1 year old! That year just flew by!
Auntie D.D. & Uncle Troy had some tasty snacky food out for us all when we got there.. yummy- Ryan was digging all of it as you can see by the smile on his face at the end of the table!
Anna on her new rocking horse from her Mommy & Daddy!

Time to sing "Happy Birthday" to Anna Marie!
Blow out your candle!!
All the kiddos (including Anna!) were patiently awaiting the birthday cake and to see what Anna thought of her very own one!

She wasn't so sure exactly what to do with it so a few of us had to show her... so confusing to these poor 1 year olds- we're always trying to keep them clean and then all of the sudden we want them to dig in and get as messy as they want. Ryan was the same way at his 1st b-day party... a little apprehensive of digging in at first. :)
Darcy made a very yummy strawberry cake with fresh strawberries in it for everyone else.
De-lish!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNA MARIE!!!

Learning a lesson????

The other day Ryan came in to tell me he'd "spilled" some Cheerios in the rec. room. I went in there and they were more than "spilled" they were more like mostly "smashed". I wasn't too happy about it since I'd just vacuumed and cleaned in there so I told him to go in and pick up the whole ones and put them in a bowl and that he was going to vacuum the rest of the mess up. (Such a tough mom I am!) haha. Anyhow, he did as I told him and he LOVED vacuuming and vacuumed... and vacuumed... and vacuumed. It was great that he likes it and I told him he can certainly do it more often, but not so sure the part about his actions being naughty really sunk in.
Oh well, ya win some you lose some, but my rec. room floor is VERY clean thanks to Ryan's mess... if that makes any sense! :)

The "After Party" party and more party pics... :)

My mom & Jacob... love this little face!
My mom & Jacob again

While Anna was opening her presents, Jacob was sitting between me and Kim and he looked up at me with this face and I had to take his picture... sweetie!! Btw, can you tell he's totally TEETHING?!?!?!
So Anna was so sticky from all that birthday cake that my sister was going to run her a bath and told Ryan and my niece, Shelby, they could help. Well before Anna could even get IN the bath, Ryan totally fell in! Completely on accident and, really, he's lucky he didn't hit his head or something. All of the sudden I heard something down the hall and saw my sister fly down the hall to the bathroom so I figured I better check it out, too. Ryan came around the corner with a big towel around him because he was SOAKED from neck to toe. It was really pretty funny and we all got a good laugh from it. Luckily, my mom only lives down the road from my sisters house and had some spare clothes for Ryan that she ran and got for him. I had just told him not to get all wet as I didn't have any other clothes for him and then he goes and falls in the tub! Too much!
Here he is while we were waiting for my mom to get back with some dry clothes, helping with Anna's bath.

We figured since he was already wet and the there was a tub ready for use, we just threw both Ryan & Shelby in since they were both due for bathes that night. It all worked out great and both kids went home, nice and clean and ready for bed!

Thanks for the bath, Auntie D.D.! :)

AWANAS ceremony!

This was Ryan's first year in AWANAS (as a Cubbie) and he LOVED it! Here he is (Jordan behind him) walking into the ceremony in the chapel.
Once it got started, they had the Cubbies (the youngest of the group) come up first and sing the AWANA Song. Ryan and Jordan were pretty stinkin' cute up there singing together!
They also said the Pledge of Allegiance and the AWANA pledge.
The song.

After they sang, the Cubbies all went back to their classrooms, where us parents met them and had sort of a graduation ceremony.
Their leaders gave them each a little bag of goodies and certificate for us parents for helping and supporting them through the year. It was so cute watching them all go up and get their little certificates!
We are going to miss AWANAS the next few months, but looking forward to starting it back up next fall! Ryan had such a great time and really enjoyed his teachers and I have to say I think they sort of got a kick out of him... can't imagine why?!! :)

Easter Sunday!

Here are our sweet little boys in their Easter outfits!
So stinkin' cute!!!
Ahhh, brothers! Now Jacob is thinking "okay- enough is enough!". :) A family picture!

This was taken the day before Easter, but I just love it of my mom and Jacob- so precious!

Easter time!

Okay, wow! I can't believe how long it's been since I've blogged- I guess the last month has been a little busy around here! :) Here's a little re-cap of our spring/Easter time festivities!!
Here's Ryan helping me dye some Easter eggs for our Easter egg hunt at his buddy, Craig's, house last Monday afternoon. What fun that was! I would post pictures from it, but my camera went "missing" last Sunday, but thankfully it was found again just in time for Easter! These pictures were taken with Jeff's blackberry picture phone, which I thought turned out pretty good for a camera phone!
Ryan, being Mr. Serious and concentrating on his eggs!
Ah! There's that smile I love so much!!!
I think they turned out quite beautiful! We were proud of them and I was happy to with how well Ryan did not making a huge mess in the process... my little man is growing up!!!
This past Saturday we were invited to some other friends' Easter egg hunt/party, as was my niece, Shelby, so she came along with us since her mom & dad were working. Kim did let me barrow her camera so I could snap some pictures at the hunt since mine was still missing at this point. Here's Ryan with her Easter egg basket on his head... being a bit of a goofball. And Shelby giving him "bunny ears"... how appropriate for this time of year! ;)
Here's Ryan next to the big Easter bunny that they had at the hunt/party... giving a good cheesy grin!
And they're OFF to find the eggs!!!!!
After the hunt, the kids had all kinds of fun activities and games to do. Ryan & Shelby both opted to frost some Easter cookies... with ALOT of frosting! Surprise, surprise! :)
Thankfully the sun broke out just in time for the party and Ryan even had to grab his shades to wear while he was frosting so he could see!
Does it look like maybe this boy got into some red frosting???? Hmmm- I can't imagine why he had a tummy ache later that night. I guess sometimes you just have to learn the hard way!Ryan or Shelby apparently took this picture as I didn't even know it was taken until I went back through the pictures from the day later that night. Sweet, happy Mr. Jacob got to enjoy the festivities in between cat-naps, too!!! :)
