Ryan's First "Big Boy" Haircut!

This morning Ryan got his first real haircut today at Fred Lee's Barbershop! Johnny Lee was working so he did it and did a great job... however, Ryan wasn't so sure of the whole thing at first, especially the cape we put over him to keep the hair off! I thought a sucker would make it better, but that didn't cut it! He sat still, but was just crying big alligator tears and then finally asked for his "binki" which I luckily brought along just in case. :)

After he traded in his sucker for his binki we were in business and the rest was a breeze. He just sat there with a look of "what is going on?" on his face, but it was really cute. A family friend happened to be waiting to get his hair cut so he took a few pictures of the event with my camera for us until Ryan settled down!

Then later today when we got home I told him how much I liked his hair cut and so he was sort of posing for me so I could get some shots of his whole head- front, back....

A Day at the Science Center!

Yesterday Ryan and I went down to the Science Center with his cousins, Shelby & Austin, Auntie and Grandma! We all had a good time, but Ryan especially loved the play area for "Tots" as they had this water area that he absolutely loved! He could stand on a chair at the kitchen sink for hours if we let him so this was right up his alley!





Then he got to ride on the Teeter Totter with his cousin, Shelby, and loved that also!

Then on the way home Ryan's Auntie needed to return something to a store so Austin was hooking his cousin up with all kinds of cool accessories and Ryan thought it was pretty fun, too. This picture was just too much- I just happened to take it at the right time. By the way, I had to buy the hat and sunglasses for this summer because he seemed to like them and they were way too cute! :)

Our Little Farmboy!

Ryan was ecstatic today when Jeff offered to take him along to go pick up a load of cows from Lynden... Ryan hurried to the door and put his boots on faster than I've ever seen him! Jeff said he did great and loved being in the "big truck", but when they hit about Burlington on the way home Ryan fell asleep. This is a picture of Jeff taking him out and Ryan just waking up.
Then he thought it was cool that his Daddy just picked him right up in his seat and sat him in Gator next to Mommy's seat! Does it get much better?! :) (we later noticed with his JD sweatshirt and JD Gator, he looks like he should be in a commercial for JD!)
Then we put the car seat back in the car and took a quick little ride around the farm in the Gator...
but it got super windy all of the sudden and we decided it was time to go into our nice warm house and have some lunch! What a day!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here's Mr. Ryan with the Valentine's Day cookie that his mommy made just for him and he said was "cool!"! Of course, he ate the frosting off of it first... he must get that from his mom! :)

Christmas every day!

I know I'm going backwards in time here, but I couldn't not post this picture of Ryan as he absolutely loves this toy he got from his Grandma & Papa for Christmas. It's the first thing he gets on in the morning and the last thing he's usually done with at night. The first week or so after Christmas we had to cover the tractor with a John Deere blanket (of course!) and put it "nite nite" so that Ryan would get off of it and go to bed too. It was really quite comical! He's all farmboy, that's for sure! It will be great to have this spring/summer when he can ride it around in the yard and I can get it out of the house! :)

California!

We just got home last week from vacation in California! Ryan had a ball and was so excited to also go on vacation with his Auntie Kim, Uncle "Yogi" and cousins Shelby and Austin... oh yeah, and Mommy & Daddy! :) We spend the first 4 days in San Diego and went to Sea World, The San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Kingdom... then it was off to the "Happiest Place on Earth" the last 3 days! We all had a ball at Disneyland and California Adventure- how can you not?! Ryan loved the rides and did really well. The weather was great until the last day of the trip and then it started sprinkling, but it was great as we hardly had to wait in any lines for the rides so that worked out well. Being from W. Washington- a little sprinkle is nothing! :) I had to post the picture of Ryan on the plane on our way down there as he was set... he had his DVD player, playing his favorite John Deere video (of course!), he had a sippy cup, snack and was good to go! He fell asleep about 5 minutes before we landed, but stayed asleep in his carseat until we got into the shuttle for the hotel. It was pretty funny- amazing what kids will sleep through when they're tired enough. On the way home he fell asleep when we left Disneyland a stayed asleep through the trip to the airport, going through security, waiting for our plane, etc. and didn't wake up until we got on the plane! Anyhow, we all had a great time!

Okay, so I figured I'd start off our new blog with the most important little guy in our lives... our son Ryan! This picture is from this past September, and now he's already 2 years old! He definitely brings joy to our lives and all the people around him everyday. Do you think we love him or what?! :)
