And the wrestling around begins...

It started out all sweet and friendly...
and then Jacob found Ryan's head!:)
And he attacked! It was really very funny- Ryan was having a ball being able to "play" with Jacob a little. Well it was fun until, as usual, someone got hurt! I would really say he got hurt, but Jacob got a good grip on Ryan's hair and the fun was over! I warned him if he put his head in front of his face that would happen and sure enough! Luckily Ryan was very quick to forgive his little brother! I'm sure it won't be the last time this happens!!

Mommy and Da Boys! :)

My personal photographer (aka Ryan) was on another picture taking roll the other day and these are some of the results...
Happy, happy boy!!!
(Btw, look at what his shirt says.... sooo true!)

Me and my little men! :)
Jacob looking at me thinking "How many more of these are you going to let him take???!".

Cuties!

Jacob... lookin' cute as usual! Love that smile!!!
"Hmmm, did my mommy really just put REAL shoes on my feet???".

Ahhh, brothers! My mom said she couldn't resist getting these matching shirts for the boys- on the side fo the shirt there is a monster truck and Ryan is very into those right now so she thought it was very fitting.... and it was! He loved matching with Jacob!

SWEET!

The boys' 4mon./ 4 year old pictures!

Last month, about a week before Ryan's surgery, the gal who had taken my pregnancy pictures, came over and took Ryan's 4yr. old and Jacob's 4month old pictures! Just figured since they both needed pictures taken, we'd try something different than the usual Babies R Us pictures and it worked out really well... we didn't even have to leave our house! ;)
There are a lot of pictures, but I just picked out a few of my favorites...

My beautiful boys!

It's official...

Jacob's rolling over... in every direction! Every day now he's getting better and better at it! When he's tired he gets more frustrated and isn't as quick to do it, but otherwise he's beginning to be on the move! I left him on the living room floor this morning while I was in the kitchen for a few minutes and when I came back in to check on him, he was in a totally different direction and managed to get his feet over to his exer-saucer and was very entertained by that! It's fun to see him starting to sort of entertain himself and be able to explore a little. He's "chatting" more and more and I absolutely LOVE to hear him "talk". He's finding his voice! I have to say, I feel like he's growing faster than ever and I'm not sure if it's because he's our second child and life is just so busy or what, but it's flying by! I take in every minute that I get to hold him while he's asleep because at the same time I look over at Ryan, who some how is 4 now, and know that he won't be a baby forever so I just savor it when ever I can. We went away earlier in the week to a conference for Darigold (where we ship our milk) with some other young producer couples and this time we brought Jacob along. Usually we go kid-free, but Ryan was already staying with Jeff's parents and Steve & Melinda's 3 kids (didn't need to add a 5 month old to that mix!) and it didn't work out for my family to keep him so we just took him with! It was his first time over night away so I was curious to see how it would go and he did great! Slept in the pack 'n play well and while we were gone on a couple tours one of the days, he was a total trooper and did so well and charmed everyone we came across! He was the only baby along this time (usually there are at least one or two others there) and so all the gals were getting their baby fixes with Jacob and he loved every minute of it as well! We were so thankful that it went as smoothly as it did having Jacob with and that Ryan had a great few days with his Grandma & Grandpa Boon and cousins, too. I bet Jeff's parents slept really well after all the kiddos left!

Jacob's 4 month check-up!

Yesterday Jacob had his 4 month old check up- well really he's technically 5 months as of this past Monday, but that was the soonest appt. they had. He's a whopping 18lbs. 13 oz. and 26 1/4 inches long! He's in the 90th percentile for height and 95th for weight... love those big boys! Dr. said he's doing great and doing everything he should be! He couldn't get over how happy he was, especially for being in the process of getting over his cold! Jacob wasn't a big fan of the 2 shots he got, but I couldn't believe how fast he stopped crying when I was able to pick him up! He's a little trooper! He's now consistently rolling over from his tummy to his back and has rolled back over a time or two, but not on a regular basis. We tried giving him some rice cereal the other night and he did pretty good with it for being his first time so now we're starting that new step of cereal and baby foods soon! Next week I'll probably start adding in some veggies and fruit so it will be fun to see what his likes and dislikes are and see if he'll be as good of an eater as his brother is/was!

Happy boy!!

Sleep over time!

A while ago, shortly after we had Jacob, Ryan got to go over to Jordan's house for a sleep over and ever since, Ryan has been talking about having Jordan over here for one. We told him when Jacob slept better we would and then once we got through with Ryan's surgery we definitely would, regardless of how Jacob was sleeping (good thing since he still isn't sleeping thru the night!). So we decided tonight was the night for the big sleepover! We picked him up later this afternoon and I'm not quite sure who was more excited, Ryan or Jordan- it was really cute. We headed home and they've been playing ever since... well with the exception of having them come eat dinner! :) They have been hanging out in the rec. room (love that!) and have been playing really good. In fact, Jordan out of no where said, "We sure are playing well!" Think he's heard Melinda or I say that a time or two?! It was pretty funny. After dinner they grabbed their favorite cozy blankets and headed back out to the rec. room for pop corn and a little tv. Here are the goofballs in their glory!

Jordan packed his jammies that Ryan has a pair of, too, so they could match. Still silly as ever!Lets see... nice, soft, cozy bed or a floor with a Cars sleeping bag to sleep in? You can guess what they chose! Here are their beds ready for them! On that note I should go and get them wound down to climb in these for the night! Should be interesting, I'm sure! :)

Baby Pheobe!

Our friends, Karen & Spencer just had their 3rd baby a little over a week ago. They have 2 sweet boys and were thrilled to find out that they also had a baby girl! She had a scheduled c-section and am happy to say Miss Pheobe shares my birthday... February 26th!!
This afternoon Ryan, Jacob and I brought them some dinner and got a chance to meet and hold their precious little girl! She's so sweet and TINY! I never got to see either of my boys when they were this size! She's a beauty!
Congrats!

My birthday par-tay!

A couple weekends ago we had a little birthday party here at our house to celebrate my 28th birthday! Heres' the spread that we had... a pasta dish, salad, Melinda's de-lish cheesy bread and a beautiful birthday cake!
I had to get an up close shot as it was just so pretty! My sister made it for me and did a great job from the frosting to the yummy strawberries... the whole thing was almost too pretty to eat- but we managed to dig in! :)

Brother & tum tum time!

This morning Jacob was fussing on the couch, waiting for me to tend to him as I got Ryan some breakfast. As I was in the kitchen, I was able to see Ryan trying to console Jacob and it was so precious. He really is such a great big brother!
I've been trying to remember to fit in a little tummy time every day or so- he's okay with it for a few minutes and then he wants nothing of it... pretty much how most babies are when you lay them on their tummy at this age. He's getting so big! He's got his 4 month old check up (even though he'll basically be 5 mons.) next week so I'm anxious to see how he's grown since our last check up! However, not so much looking forward to the shots... :(

A walk in the sun!

These pictures were taken later the same day, I believe, as the ones below. (can you tell I've been a bit preoccupied the last couple weeks?!) It was a gorgeous day out, in fact we had many in a row and finally we took advantage of the beautiful day and went for a walk/ bike ride. We got home from running a few errands in the early afternoon and I asked Ryan if he wanted to take a nap or go for a bike ride.... silly question, I know! :) Here's me and the little man all set for a stroll down the road!
My bigger little man all ready to get those wheels movin'! Thumbs up dude!

Ryan wanted to take one of Jacob and I and if you look to the right you can even see Mt. Baker in the background! We sure live in a beautiful valley!
We had the nicest time that afternoon- almost all the neighbors on our road were out doing something... walking, gardening, painting. Ryan was the little social man that he is and visited with each and every one of them and, of course, they all just ate it up!

Ryan's photo session with Jacob :)

So this picture I took myself a couple weeks ago- don't remember the exact date but was just a couple days before Ryan's surgery. Cute brothers... :)
Apparently after I put my camera down, Ryan picked it back up! This is what I found on my camera when I went through my pictures earlier this week! I was just cracking up! Ryan set Jacob up next to his new and FAVORITE Claas chopper calendar that Jeff got him.
Then he got an up close shot. Oh, I imagine these will be cherished and chuckled at for years to come!!!
